As the newer research comes out about what true core and pelvic floor recovery really looks like, I feel called to share it far and wide. We have been misled in Physical Therapy schools, Yoga trainings and in various forms of fitness classes about how to truly engage the core. When healthy, our deepest core muscles, engage reflexively meaning without us having to think about it. They engage in less than a split second before our bigger muscles create our gross movements. The thing is that most of us have been injured and our deep core muscles have shut down and we have to specifically train them to get them back online. When we are told “pull the belly to the spine” or “‘lift the pelvic floor muscles”, we are engaging consciously which is not how those muscles work for us. We have to retrain them how they actually contract, which is automatically or reflexively. Watch this video to learn more about the pelvic floor, the functioning of the entire respiratory system, why kegels could be detrimental for you, as well as an introduction to this revolutionary breath and postural method, Hypopressive Breathing and Low Pressure Fitness.
I am teaching this core and pelvic floor recovery method over Skype with clients, so please EMAIL ME with any inquiries.
I truly hope this supports you!
